Change will happen anyway! Choose Progress.
In today’s world, with all that’s going on, our life is changing all the time. If we do not guard our life with our planned schedules, habits and mindfulness we can easily get caught up busy being busy and not living the life we truly deserve.
There is a huge difference between change and progress. One can just change by time, life takes care on it’s own to create change. However, if we take care of ourselves, how we react to the changes that life is always throwing at us and through mindful reactions we can get progress. Progress is happiness. Think about this. What makes you happy? Most of the time happiness is indeed progress, for example, your change in perception about something made you more happy. So here the progress is in your change in perception. Another example, back in the days at my previous job I had a promotion and it made me happy, Progress is happiness.
To be able to seek progress effectively, we need to let go of the past and this can be very difficult to most of us.
The first step is to determine your reason for wanting to let go of the past. Ask yourself: “What are the reasons that you absolutely must move beyond this? How will your life change? How will it change the trajectory of your relationships? And how will you feel in this new chapter of your life?”
This is one of the most important parts of the process because it will help you stay motivated. It’s going to be your emotional drive. You are inevitably going to have setbacks and challenges, but if you have a strong enough reason and a strong enough purpose, you will stay focused and dedicated.
