Losing or gaining?

Many people are afraid to alter their lifestyle positively, simply because they fear losing out on their guilty pleasures. That’s the problem holding back many people nowadays from realising their true potential: fearing what they might lose instead of chasing what they can gain. I like to compare this with the concept of an iceberg. Everyone sees and focuses on the minor, upper part. But in reality, it’s the larger, unseen part under the water that holds everything together.

Reaching your goals isn’t a clear, linear, smooth-sailing path. Life will always hand you challenges, but being challenged is inevitable. However, being defeated is only optional. Being proactive enables us to take responsibility for our life and actions then just rather be a passenger and see how things evolve on their own. Be the captain of your own ship. Take the initiative to always do better. It’s about not letting life’s unpredictability dictate your attitude, behaviour and goals. Being proactive affects both your personal and professional life.

Proactive people do not blame circumstances, conditions, or conditioning for their behaviour. Their behaviour is a product of their own conscious choice, based on values, rather than a product of their conditions, based on feeling." ~ Stephen Covey

Don’t wait for things to happen to you. Make decisions, look for solutions in difficult situations and choose to have a positive attitude. It’s difficult to entirely change the way you look at life, but just like everything else; consistent, small incremental changes will get you there. This will not only help you with your physical fitness goals (be it based on looks, fat loss, muscle gain etc), but especially with your overall wellbeing state, such as; Medical issues, mood, self-confidence, self-esteem, better sleep, decreased stress, memory improvement and much more.

Gaining health and confidence with how we feel and look change our lives entirely. Not only making us happier, but also feeling more eager to be active, productive, socialise and not hold back anymore.Never fear what you might lose, focus on what you will gain.
