You Need a Solid Daily Routine - Your Long-Term Success Depends on it.


The secret of your future is hidden in your daily routine.


You need a routine to establish and work on your priorities, limit procrastination and to keep track of your goals. It lowers your reliance on willpower and motivation.


Take control of your life. Set some routines and learn to follow them. This is one of my biggest life lessons. "Yes, our routine is of grotesque magnitude in respect to relevance in life."


Just decide to start and set up a daily ritual.


Not only do morning and evening routines allow you to do more but as with all rituals they simply give your life more rhythm, texture and pleasure.


The best possible starting point is to spend 10 minutes in the evening planning your next day. Simple isn't it? "No not really" because I bet that 90% of the time you never do it or at least, not mindfully.


Now regarding the most interesting part. How to start?


You start by choosing an activity that puts you in a positive mindset to start off the day and one that you are able to commit regularly.


Activities like getting good sleep, choosing to eat healthy and exercising, should not be negotiable.


It is 100% proven by studies that regular exercise boosts alertness, energy, productivity and mental focus.


Now here is the thing. From personal experience I realised that being an effective early riser changes everything for the rest of the day. In fact in a poll of 20 executives cited by Laura Vanderkam, a time management expert and the author of one of my favourite books, "What the most successful people do for breakfast", 90% said waking up before 6am on weekdays.


Pepsi CEO Indra Noogi is already in his office not later than 7am.


Disney CEO Bob Iger gets up at 4.30am.


Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey is up at 5.30am to go jogging.
